April produced some pretty solid Red Fish on PINS. Most were caught on Pomp rigs the DCD3 rigs

fished at long distance. Suck outs and pinches in the second gut produced the best

Red and Whiting caught on DCD3 Fishbites and Shrimp

Quality-eating shrimp tipped with a Fishbite was the bait of choice. Finger Mullet have started to show up but I advise to take some bait with you to be sure. Weed has been rare this year compared to resent years with rumors of our weed beds washing out into the Atlantic on a current change. Been trying some of Daiwa’s Saltist braid on the Daiwa Saltist Reels matched with our spinning rods. (LDX. GDX and the Omega) These new braids allow you to use far smaller reels making the feel and balance of rods far better than when you had massive 6000 size reels loaded with mono. The Daiwa Saltist reel matched with any of the above Breakaway rods is an awesome set up. The balance of these combo’s and the lightweight makes slinging lures a pleasure.

Nice Black Drum caught on the Omega 10ft 6in and Daiwa Saltist 4500 loaded with 40b braid.
