My wife picked up the HDX top shelf last week. Well, I FINALLY got to take it out yesterday to Texas City Dike, and look at the first fish I caught a 45 lb big ugly on a cracked crab.

Rod performed superbly fighting the fish. Backbone and length kept it from diving into the rocks. Always a challenge on a jetty/dike. I am still getting used to casting it, with the extra foot in length and stiffness, compared to the 12 foot rods i’m used to. But it won’t take long….
